Project Update

Last week, more progress was made at the Trager MicroForest as an urban forest begins to take shape. Full Care continued their tree planting, with 14 more trees being planted around the space. A little under half the trees we expect to see in the park have been planted.

After the trees went in, Full Care also began installing the catenary light system. The cables that will hold the lights were installed on the central pole, but they will not be attached to the exterior poles until after all trees are planted. This ensures we do not have to maneuver around them when planting some of the bigger trees. An additional bench was also installed along the central retaining wall.

Last week was likely the last week of work on the MicroForest we will see this year. The University of Louisville will be closing for winter break after this week, so work will resume in the late winter/early spring months of 2025.

Happy Holidays!
