November 30, 2023
11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Meeting at:
Triangle Park
400 W Main St, Lexington, KY 40507
Short notice, but we are going to Lexington on Saturday to check out Town Branch Commons (TBC) with landscape architect Patrick Henry who will serve as our Field Guide. The project was completed last year and connects two major trail systems serving as a hub for a growing multi-use path network through the city. TBC is a great example of a project that not only provides more options for safe connectivity by cycling and walking, but goes beyond by incorporating quality design and materials while addressing ecological treatments to make the city a healthier place.
We need to bring more high-quality connectivity to Louisville so people can get around the city by bike or walking. Visiting and learning from projects like TBC is critical in understanding what is possible and how to get there here, in Louisville.
Town Branch Commons has won several awards and this Lane Report article does a good job of describing the project and why it is winning awards. If you would like to see the project and hear the details from someone who was directly involved, please join us this Saturday, November 30th at 11 am at Triangle Park.
If you plan on joining us in Lexington, please email Patrick Piuma so we can make sure we are able to communicate with you if plans change. Hope to see you there.
