Things are kicking into high gear at Founders Square. With the tree planting expected to begin before the end of the year, final preparations are being made to ensure the site is ready. Last week, this entailed pouring concrete into the footers for the light poles.
After the concrete was poured, it was allowed to settle for a few days before excess concrete was ground down. The smaller the base of these poles, the more area we have for plants.
This week, we should continue to see a good amount of activity on the site. Lighting infrastructure will continue to go in, as the light poles themselves should finally arrive to the site. In addition, RGB lighting should be installed around the rim of the central retaining wall. You may also see some additional seating appear in the MicroForest space in the next week or two.
