This report investigated urban design elements in Louisville, Kentucky’s SoBro (South ofBroadway) neighborhood, including new urban forms, structural urban elements (e.g.: trees, benches, sidewalks), organization of urban space, issues of scale, transition, relationship between buildings, public space, and sustainable development. In conjunction with the neighborhood planning process undertaken by Metro Louisville’s Department of Planning and Design and the Center For Neighborhoods, the Urban Design Studio was tasked with identifying and analyzing the neighborhood’s significant physical issues. The purpose of this analysis was to offer potential solutions in a concerted effort to reinvent the SoBro Neighborhood.
