Brian is a GIS Analyst for the City of Newport News, Virginia. At the Urban Design Studio (2015-2017) Brian worked on ReSurfaced: 3 Days at 10th, ReSurfaced: The Liberty Build, Measuring Urban Design with the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s Research & Policy Lab, the City Explorer series and Better Block Shelby Park.‍

Working at the intersection of data and design, Brian utilizes effective pedagogy and design thinking to present complex concepts in a way that resonates and empowers others. Having served as a Teach For America educator and city planner, Brian has seen first hand the power people have to create change when they are given a seat at the table and believes inclusive community engagement is critical to the decision making process.
