03 Mar ReSurfaced receives Award from Kentucky ASLA

The 2015 Kentucky Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (KY ASLA) award winners have been announce and ReSurfaced: Pop-Up Plaza on Main received the Honor Award for Design in the Constructed Work category. The Honor award is the most distinguished in the category. The project was submitted by the landscape architecture and design firm of Henry | McGalliard, in collaboration with the Urban Design Studio and Mark Foxworth with City Collaborative as the client. The award was presented at the KY ASLA’s Annual Meeting on Friday (February 27th) in Newport, Kentucky.

We would like to thank everyone who helped make ReSurfaced on Main Street a reality. We could not have built out the space without the small army of volunteers who showed up every Saturday for a month before it opened. Thanks to all of our sponsors, and special thanks to BlueSky for contributing the generous funding needed early on to build the critical components of the site to make the space operational. Thanks also to everyone at Louisville Metro and the Louisville Downtown Partnership in helping us navigate the hurdles of pulling together the project, and PARC for allowing us to utilize the property.

Below are a few images from the initial construction of the site.
